KING EDDY HOTEL
Goodbye
Friday August 13 2004

A little epitaph to a passing of yet another Edwardian Era
In the days of old
A tale was told
of how King Edward had the Blues.
He wanted to wed Wallis
But his kin reviled the news
And so he went to exile
On an island in the sea
On the Ocean where King Eddy had the Blues
Just yesterday
I heard the news
A century's tale came to a close
How King Eddy's hotel namesake
Was in her final throes.
The walls were moldy where so boldly
Bill and others played their tunes...
The story stayed the same
In a city where King Eddy sang the Blues.
